I used the mail merge toolkit to send an email and attached a pdf document but instead of the pdf document being attached and sent the .txt mailmerge file was sent instead which contained sensitive data. Does anyone know how this could have happened?

I am using Microsoft Word 2007 and Microsoft Office 2007 on a Windows 7 PC.


Also just at the time of sending the email I received an infected email which was quarantined but I do not know if this affected what happened.

If you use http://www.gmayor.com/ManyToOne.htm, presumably in one to one mode, you can merge to the body of an e-mail message and attach a common PDF to each, or attach a PDF identified in the data source, or you can merge to PDF and attach that PDF as an attachment with a standard message or a personalised message - or any combination of the above. And no messages are sent until you are happy with the resulting messages, which are initially created in a temporary Outlook folder.

Thank you for your reply but I still don't understand how the error happened with the mailmerge I used previously and want to prevent that ever happening again.
