Hello everyone,
I need your help. I'm not sure if Word uses ASSIGN like Wordperfect does. I am trying to merge a legal document that includes an address from 2 merge fields. The first field has the Street Address plus the Suite or Apartment number. The second field has the City, State and Zip. So it looks like this after the merge: 123 Street Address Suite 5678 Dallas, TX 75201 Because the address goes into the body of this document, I need the entire address to merge on the same line so it looks like this: 123 Street Address, Suite 5678, Dallas, TX 75201. How can I make this happen? First field = 123 Street Address Suite 5678 Second field = Dallas, TX 75201 Thanks in advance for your kind assistance. |

Removing Return from Address field in Mailmerge
Can anyone help me with this issue? Let me go a little further by adding the name to the fields to see if anyone can help.
First field = «Address1» 123 Street Address Suite 5678 First field = «Address2» Dallas, TX 75201 Does MSWord allow two fields to be assigned as a single field? (hope this makes sense). If so, how? I researched but could not find anything. I desperately need help my deadline to complete this legal document is fast approaching. Any suggestion on getting the entire address on a single line in a mail merge? |

You cannot insert part of a field in Word, so your first field, with the line break is the problem. You will always get that line break. The only practical answer is to add extra address columns to your data source and derive the parts of the address from the original field. This is straightforward in Excel. You can then merge the revised fields as required.
