Default Catalogue e-mail merge problem

Hi

My client requires an email containing recipient specific information and a list of software that they have installed on their PC. The information resides in a singe excel worksheet.

I have spent a number of hours on this and tried the G Mayor Tutorial with limited success. I can't seem to get the intermediate output to appear in the format needed - my output is appearing in seperate boxes. Is there another way, or any gotchas that I should be aware of?

thanks in advance

Lorenzo

It's not clear whether you're referring to the Many-to-One Mail Merge add-in from Graham Mayor at http://www.gmayor.com/ManyToOne.htm or my Microsoft Word Catalogue/Directory Mailmerge Tutorial at http://www.gmayor.com/Zips/Catalogue%20Mailmerge.zip

Perhaps you could clarify.

PS: I've split your post off into a new thread.

There are no 'gotchas' - it's just a matter of carefully following the instructions. If you post a copy of the intermediate document with a few samples of the 'separate boxes', I might be able to tell you what the issue is.

Hi

Thanks for the very kind offer.

I ran into a variety of related issues and in the end had a bash at formatting the data in Excel. I was able to do this after a flash of inspiration and so have solved the issue without needing to ask for further help.

The crunch was realising that processing in Excel was always going to be needed due to the many 1000s of rows of data and the need for conditional extraction of data for multiple mail merges and iterations over the data.

With the very best regards

Lorenzo
