Conditionally Email People Based on Values in Fields
So we have a .csv file that has
EmplID Last Name, First Name Email Address Total Weeks Worked Previous Pay Period Total Weeks Worked This Pay Period I'd like to create a mail merge that only sends the email out to those people when their weeks worked in the previous pay period was LESS THAN this pay period. Is there an easier way to do this than checking off the boxes in a mail merge. THANKS FOR ANY ADVISE! |

In that case, use a SKIPIF field that tests the values of the two fields. For example:
{SKIPIF{MERGEFIELD Total_Previous}={MERGEFIELD Total_Current}} where 'Total_Previous' and 'Total_Current' are the field heading names in your csv file. Note: The field brace pairs (ie '{ }') for the above example are created in the body of the document via Ctrl-F9 (Cmd-F9 on a Mac) - you can't simply type them or copy & paste them from this message.

Your Awesome!
I'm glad you added the "NOTE:" That really solved some potential issues. I'll have to buy you a coke some day. Maybe throw in a cookie as an added bonus.
Seriously though, THANK YOU. I was using macros in excel to send this thing off before and it was a annoying having to click "send" on 30+ emails. |
