Default Automatically change the value of one cell so that two other cells become equal

Does anyone know if I can use a formula to automatically change the value in one cell so that two other cells will have equal values? For example, I want B1 and C1 to be equal numbers. The number in B1 is calculated using a formula and is affected by the value in A1. C1 is calculated with a formula based on various other cells. So, once C1 is calculated, I want the value in A1 to change so that the value in B1 equals the value in C1. Right now, I am just changing A1 manually through trial and error. I would like to automate it somehow.

Thanks for any help that anyone can provide. Let me know if this is confusing.

I attached an example. In the example, C1 equals the sum of D1, E1 and F1. B1 equals A1 + E1. In this particular instance, the value of C1 is 6. I want the value of A1 to automatically become 4, so that B1 will also equal 6 and thus equal C1.

Is that possible? Thanks.

this is so obvious...
A1 must be equal to D1+F1, and this is all...
This is the most difficult task i had for a long time..

Hi Matthew
As Catalin advises it is a simple formula in A1:
=D1+E1

Catalin, even the most of experienced of us have simple issues we cannot grasp sometimes, that is why this forum is so invaluable.

Right, Tony, and sometimes, the solution comes after a good sleep, not after 24 hours of work..
