Default Relinking excel worksheets

I created a few worksheets with simple formulas in it. The worksheets populated another worksheet with its values. Now this worksheet has been working fine with no issues, but I recently moved the sheets from one system to another and due to this, Im getting all funny errors. Basically the sheet that is dependant on other sheets is not updating with values properly. So what do I do? Please help!

Default Difference in link location and actual location of file

Hii,
As you have moved the file from one system to another, there might be possibility that the location which you have chosen in the old system will be different from the location in the new system (e.g while writing the formula in the file (old system) for instance the location of the file is destop & now (new system) the location of the same file will somewhere else rather than destop. Another possiblity may be that the user which was there in old system & in the new system may be different. ( e.g user name in old system xxxx & in new system zzzzz). see this if u still face the problem the let me know.
Thanks
Regards,
Nirik

Hi iffy,

For your links to work, the shortest relative path between the two files must be the same. For example, if the source file's path on the old system was:
C:\Users\Iffy\Documents\Work\Property\Plans\Source File.xls
and the target file's path on the old system was:
C:\Users\Iffy\Documents\Work\Property\Services\Coo ling\Target File.xls
then the shortest path from the target file to the source file was from Services\Cooling to Plans.
On the new system, provided the same arrangement exists, the links should work. If you don't have that, you'll need to update the links. Ordinarily, I would expect the target file to alert you if it could not locate the source file.
