Default Gross Salary From Net Salary

Hi,

kindly help me with excel formula to work back the Gross Salary from the Net Salary.

Given,
Net Salary (example)...................2,723.50,
S.S.F.........................................5.5%
P.F............................................3%

NB: Total of 8.5% is deducted from the gross salary to arrive at the chargeable income, on which tax is calculated.

The Tax Rates are attached in an excel file named, TAX RATES

Thanks in advance for helping me out.

I was too tired yesterday obviously - there were a couple miscalculations in attached file.

thanks so much ArviLaanemets,

your solution helps me work the net salary if I already know the gross salary and that's awesome.

However, my question is I want to pay someone a Net salary of 2,723.50 and also want to pay SSF(5.5%) and PF(3%),
what should the gross salary be?

NB: SSF and PF(total

I can't open the attachments but in order to get the gross salary, computations must start from the net salary followed by a bit of trial and error in the tax rate. Try the attached sample. It needs input on desired net salary in B7 and the applicable tax rate in B6.
Attachment edited.
