Default Rows hidden!

I use Microsoft Excel very little. I work for a small business and we keep a basic list of customers.
One day I opened my Excel sheet and rows were missing! I don't know HOW they became hidden and the "unhide" is not working. I did some googling and found out how to drag down the rows to show what's hidden but this is tedious!
Why did this happen? Why isn't "unhide" working for me?

What do you mean with this

A blind shot - check the state of Freeze Panes for sheet!

I found in a google search that if you hover your pointer over the lines between the numbers until you see a double line, then you can pull down and see a hidden row. Only one row at a time though. I would have hundreds if I did it that way.

I don't know what you mean buy checking the state of freeze panes. How do I do that?

The numbers down the left side are blue. I don't know why or how?

Usually this means, you have set autofilter to some column.

If memory serves, click Ctrl+A then apply the technique you described in post #3
All done in one go

Thank you all for your quick replies!

I tried everything, and the only thing I was successful at was (from my google search) pulling each line down manually.
I saved the file that way and it's fine, however, those numbers on the left are still blue. I checked and there is no filter set. I also noticed that in the similar files from previous years the same thing had happened, as if all similar files were affected all at once.
Today they are fine. I have no idea why.

Could macros have something to do with it? We have received files from other companies and as I open the file I'm asked if I want to enable macros. I might have done that! Could that have been the cause?
