Default Recalculate

I have a very simple "counting" column in a spread sheet. The formula is simple 1+ the number in the above row. This always worked fine. All of a sudden, when I copy the formula into the next row the value remains the same as the row I copied from, even though the actual formula was copied. Any suggestions as to what's wrong?

Check if Calculation is set to automatic.
If it is post your sheet so we can see what could be wrong

Thank you for your quick reply. Workbook was on manual recalculation... Have no idea how it got that way, but it's fixed now.
