Formula indicating employees entitled to a salary increase every three years from date of appointmen
There is an agency policy that every 3 years from the date of appointment or promotion, an employee is entitled to a percentage increase in his/her salary. If I use conditional formatting, what is the formula that will mark all employees that will receive increases during the year 2019? Say, Col A contains the names of all employees and column B contains the date of their appointment. |

Perhaps select col A range and use the following CF rule
=YEAR(EDATE($B1,3*12))=2019 Format as needed

Thank you Pecoflyer. I tried your formula but it only applies to those who were appointed in 2016. It should also mark the employees with appointments in 1995, 1998, 2001, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2013.

Thank you Xor (my apologies for mis-spelling your name earlier). I changed the random dates to the actual appointments of the employees and applied the conditioning formula that you suggested. It was just the very solution that I had been racking my brain to come up with. Again, big thanks.
