Default Comparing two columns

Hi
I`d be happy if someone helped me with this .. i`m trying to compare data between two columns or tables, and if they match I`d like to get the result of column G.

For example if there is a match between B2 - F2 then i`l get the result of column G2 and so on throughout the table..
file is attached..

Thanks

Many thanks ... I just forgot to explain that the comparison should actually be on the entire F column not just F2 ..how do I change it ?

F2 is checked against B2:B1002. Similarly for F3, F4, ..... , F1869

What exactly is wrong in column H? Plese show excamples.

Sorry for the late response .. my goal is to check each cell in the B column against entire F column . and to obtain the result of the symbol listed next to it (cell G).

Next issue is, that the names in Column B and Column F do not match 100 percent, but the first word usually does .
Is there a way to overcome this as well ?

as yuo`v seen...i have two tables side by side ,company name and its symbol. I need a formula that will lookup for columns A or B in the list of column F or G. And getting the result in column H ...

The problem is that there is not always accurate match between columns, for example in column A symbol might be described AABA. and in column G registered AABA.O ..

Also the company's full name is sometimes registered differently, for example column A the company's full name described -Agilent Technologies, but in column G - AGILENT TECH.
If you have a solution for that i would be very happy..

Apart from the not exact match is this what you want

If it is please describe exactly how the names can differ.

You didn't answer my question in the first line of #8

As to the not exact match problem you might want to take a look at:
