Default Lookup to find first non-blank cell

I have spreadsheet with a column (N14:N68) of numbers and blanks.
I want to use the last value in the column.

=LOOKUP(2,1/(N14:N68<>""),N14:N68)

This returns a blank answer.

I have attached a spreadsheet example with this post.

Thanks!!
Mike

Try this...

=INDEX(N:N,MATCH(9.99999999999999E+307,N:N))

Default Lookup to find first non-blank cell

Jeffery - OK that works - but why???

I did find that the column is really not blank cells - it has spaces.
The formula for column N is =IF(B14=" "," ",D14+E14+H14) which is inserting a space.

What is the 9.99999999999999E+307 doing? Why 307?

Thanks for your help!
Mike

@mactoolsix

I know you have got a solution already but would just mention that you could also have made a small change to your own formula like this:

=LOOKUP(2,1/ISNUMBER(N14:N68),N14:N68)

Hi and welcome
Please,do not crosspost your question on multiple forums without including links here to the other threads on other forums.

Cross-posting is when you post the same question in other forums on the web. The last thing you want to do is waste people's time working on an issue you have already resolved elsewhere. We prefer that you not cross-post at all, but if you do (and it's unlikely to go unnoticed), you MUST provide a link (copy the url from the address bar in your browser) to the cross-post.

Read this to understand why we ask you to do this, and then please edit your first post to include links to any and all cross-posts in any other forums (not just this site).

Do not post any further responses in this thread until a link has been provided to these cross posts.
