Default Sum and Lookup multiple values

Hi

I have a workbook, in one sheet I have a list of months/years e.g. Oct 2017, Sept 17 etc, also beside these dates I have Categories and then a value.

In the same workbook on a different tab, I want to be able to enter a from and to date and that will then sum up the values for specific categories from the other sheet.

Can anyone help with this?

Many thanks

Will
