Sorting with blank cells
I have a spreadsheet set up with last name in column A, first name in column B and then course names in column C. For most staff they have up to 10 different courses they have attended. I want to be able to sort by last name then first name but not have their names duplicated on every line. I have attached a sample. Can anyone suggest the best way to do this? |

IMO, the easiest method. (Names will be duplicated, but masked by step 5)
1) Highlight A2:B11 2) F5 >> Special >> Blanks >> OK 3) Enter the "=" sign and hit the up arrow one time. In the formula bar you will see A2 4) Commit with Ctrl + Enter 5) Conditional Formatting
6) Highlight columns A:B >> Right click copy >> Right Click paste special >> Values >> OK 7) Now Right click on A2 >> Sort >> Sort A to Z |

Table will not allow sorting because "cells are merged". I can't find the merged cells. | wendyloooo | Word Tables | 1 | 05-26-2015 01:19 PM |
