Default Exctract values from multiple list and sum them up

I have a list of materials with quantities for several assemblies. Each assembly has some duplicate material with differing quantities. I want to tally them up to find how many of each material are needed. How can I do that in either cell functions or macros?

In short, if you look at my attachment, I want to get from the assembly lists there to the Total list there.

Wow! This is awesome! It does exactly what I need and it is just a function! I wish there is a good way to learn things like this. Excel has many great functions, but knowledge of them is hard to come by, because there are so many. Thank you, xor!

I’m happy to help.

Yes there are more than 300 functions.

Most Fundamental (in my opinion):
IF, COUNT, COUNTA
SUM, SUMPRODUCT
COUNTIF(S), SUMIF(S)
AVERAGE, AVERAGEIF(S)
MAX, MIN, ROUND,
INT, ABS

Second tier (in my opinion):
MATCH, INDEX, ROW,
COLUMN, ROWS, COLUMNS
AND, OR, NOT
IFERROR, ISNUMBER
