Default Is there a 'choose number' add-in or can one be made

I have this template I made [with help from you guys here] and the only thing I would like for it is a choose number, not a calculator, just choosing numbers. I couldn't find any such add-in, but while looking I saw a number of 'or make your own' suggestions. I have no idea, though I tried reading about it, how I would do that. My classification here is novice, but there must be something less, after all novice implies you actually know something about the thing for which you choose to be a novice, I only downloaded a free template which ended up having to be changed to do what I want And it was my 1st excel experience, actually my first any database type program or whatever it is called.

So, I have to enter upwards of 20 check numbers a month, and if there were something like the date picker, but just with numbers that would be much easier than while I'm clicking drop downs to enter stuff having to stop and type in numbers in a column. Thanks for any information.

Where would these numbers come from? And, having chosen one, what's supposed to happen with it?

Hi,

Sorry, I must have missed the email of your reply. After reseaching I found that I hadn't realized how involved a process creating an add-in was. However, to answer your question, I was wanting something like the date picker add-in, but it would just let you choose numbers. So, with the date picker, you right click the cell and it opens a menu and you choose date picker and it opens a calendar. You click a date and it enters, as an example 01/01/16 in the cell, if you have choosen Jan 1. So, I was visualizing a kind of calculator looking thing with numbers 1 through 0 and you could just click say 123 and it would enter it in the cell where you opened it.

It's just for a time saver, because it is not hard to enter the check numbers, just time consuming because there are so many written each month

Unless you're already using a userform, creating one for this purpose could only slow down the input process - not speed it up. A date picker performs a quite different function, as it allows you to choose a date by month, week and day of week. That's rather more complex than just a list of numbers in a dropdown or something such. Besides which, you still haven't said where the numbers would come from. Presumably you wouldn't want the same number being picked multiple times, but that's precisely what a date-picker control or one like it allows.

Actually, I would be the one putting in the numbers, they are the check numbers that have been sent out. But, I really don't understand much about programming except that it is involved, and I was just visualizing something like a calculator thing, but that didn't calculate, that just let you choose the numbers. As I said, not knowledgeable about involved programming Given what you said, you're right it probably will be easier to just type in the number as I write the check, which is what I do now.

Thanks so much.
