Day date and time cell display
Office '07
My intent is to have a cell display the current date and time. I first use the shortcut 'ctrl + ;' to enter the date, then I hit the space bar and then I use 'ctrl + shift + :' to enter the time. while I'm hightlighting the cell, the correct date and time appear in the top of page data bar that reflects cell contents, but only the date appears in the actual cell. When I leave the cell, again, only the date appears. This is not a formatting condition. I can shrink the point size all the way down and still only the date appears in the cell? Mark |

If I'm not mistaken, it is a formatting issue. Not the font, but the number format. From the Home tab on your ribbon, press the little boxy thing with the arrow on the bottom right of the Number section to open up the Format Cells dialog box.
In the Category list box, select Date if it is not already selected. Then scroll through the available formats in the Type list box. Otherwise, choose custom in the Category list box and make your own. |

You're correct. Scrolling down the Date options there's a format(s) for Date + Time.
Thanks, Mark |
