Default Excel 2010 Garbage on bar graphs w/ bevel

I have a new laptop on Win7. It came with Office 2013 which I do not care for. So like my old laptop I uninstalled Office 2013 and installed 2010.

In Excel I create a lot of pivot charts, mostly bar. I also always use the beveled bars.

What I'm seeing is that when I select from the ribbon to change from normal bar line to beveled options, they appear in the ribbon corrupted. When I select the bevel option my graph bars display a lot of what I'm calling garbage / corruption / checkerboards.

This ONLY seems to happen with the Beveled bar graphs.

I have used MS uninstall tool and completely removed any reference of 2010 and put it back on but still have the problem.

I made some screen shots in the attached word doc:

First original graph
Then you can see the ribbon corruption
THen the graph after I select bevel (what you can't see is how it looks all checkerboard

I am really struggling with this one. If someone can help I would MORE than GREATLY appreciate it
