Huge Mistake!
While working in a spreadsheet I remember accidentally clicking 'something' with the mouse while I was moving the mouse from point to point.
The result being the sheet I was viewing turned all Excel background color (attached) with no cells, data, etc. I closed and opened Excel, opened the file I was working on and the same result. The file did not display but for the background color. I tried opening other files with the same result. Oddly even the filename of the files I was opening did not display along the top Excel border as usual. I then Opened New and correctly was presented with an Excel grid. However, as soon as I opened a file, gone was the grid and again the Excel background color. What in the heck did I do????? Mark |

I figured out the solution but still do not understand the problem.
When I just now opened Excel to the blank blue/green screen, then clicked New, I noticed that the resulting grid was smaller than the background and you could move the grid around. I clicked the enlarge button for the grid which caused the grid to fill the background and sort of lock in. Once that was done and I opened a file, the file displayed correctly. Mark |

I'd love to come across like the expert and explain what happened, Mark, but I'm stonkered. Your screen shot looks like you simply closed the workbook but left Excel up. But you say it looks blank like that even after reopening Excel and then opening a workbook.
If you figure out what caused it, come back and tell me, too, please. |
