If something is broken on your PC, maybe you should fix it instead of complaining that Excel is flawed.

It's reproducible on several machines. Feel free to demonstrate if it works on your machine, though.

I confirmed the correct behaviour with Excel 2010 before posting. Correctly installed, Excel 2010 works as specified. If you're not getting the correct results, that suggests your installation(s) are at fault, regardless of how many you might claim to have tested with - or that you're not telling us the whole story...

Update: The problem with the data in your link (I've just found your earlier discussion and moved this one back to your own thread instead of leaving it in the one you hijacked) is that you're trying to paste many different data formats at once and Excel has to make its best guess as to how each item should be handled. Sometimes it comes up short and you need to do some minor reformatting. Not really a big deal, though you could write a macro to do it if the issue was critical. Given your attitude though, don't expect any help from me on that front!

Nice. Can you actually show that?

Entered a string like 24/7 in notepad then copy pasted to a pre-formatted text sheet, works perfectly.

This is getting us nowhere.

Seeing the way you react and your overall lack of courtesy for those trying to help you for free on their free time, I am adding you to my "ignore list".

Good luck with your query
