Default Data validation list filter with range defined by OFFSET

Hi everyone,

I struggle with linking one validation list to another in order to filter my choices.

It usually works well with typing =INDIRECT($A$1), then filtering the list to A1 Name Manager, but it doesn't work in my case.
I think it is so because I used an Offset formula to define my second range.

Can anybody have look ?

Thanks

I see what you're trying to do there. I'll have to ponder it.

Thank you for your answer and taking time to help me.

Even though I get the definition of pondering, I have no idea about what you have in mind. Could you please develop ?

Thanks

It works fine if you specify the ranges for the Sports and the Sciences explicitly. There must be something screwy with the Offset equations you entered for them.

The Offset equations seem to work as intended with one remark. The "working filter" you have in the same column is going to add an additional cell to the range that you don't intend. Of course, I understand this is only there for illustrative purposes.

Nor do I see how it would mess things up. I moved the "working filter over" and the ranges pointed correctly but the data validation still doesn't work.
