Default Encrypted macros wont run...

After rolling out a bunch of worksheets with extensive macro functionality, I found some people are getting the following message:

"This file contains encrypted macros that have been disabled because there is no antivirus software installed that can scan them. To run these macros, remove the encryption or permission restrictions on the file."

Excel's suggested solution is to remove encryption. That isn't a solution: I trust my own macros, what I don't want to do is have the users messing around with it and modifying them - that's what I don't trust.

Yet there seems no option to enable them and take the risk of running my macros. There are two options "Disable" (grayed out) and "Disable"

After a quick search it seems I have to do a registry edit to be able to run the code I wrote! This is just crazy, also - I can't edit registry on our IT system PCs. I shouldn't need to edit the registry to have people run a macro. How can they have an encryption system on macros that disables them?

It seems random whether people can use them or not. Some can without any problems and others can't. I got one sheet sent back in an email and now it comes up with the error when I open it. Any idea how I can get the people who are using these spreadsheets to actually be able to run the macros? This didn't happen with excel 2003...

Anyone know of a solution?

Hi
As your macros work on some machine then it can only be down to the configuration of the machines where your macros do not work. You need to speak to your IT Dept to match the config of the machines that do work.
Hope this works.
