vlookup question
I am trying to match information from 2 columns. If the information matches, I want to have information from another column inserted into a cell. We have trying: lookup, match, find...with no luck. Is this possible? |

Yes it is possible. Please post you excel spreadsheet so we can answer you questions specifically. As an overview you will need to join (concatenate) the 2 columns together and use that as your lookup value in a vlookup.

vlookup - getting it to work
Hi Tony G. When using a vlookup the value you are looking up must be in the first column of the list (see attached). I've created a simple version and then a more complete version for you to look at. The second formula will display "not in list" if the vlookup cannot find an exact match.

Craig / Schereazada,
Thank you both for your help. The amount of time you saved me, about 5 days, was incredible. I had already invested about 5 long, boring, days. This formula condensed the time to 6 hours. |
