Password Encrypted workbooks linking together
I have a complicated scenario I need solved:
We have several workbooks (Workbook A, B, C, D) where each user will have their own unique encrypted password. Then we have a master workbook (Master) with it's own encrypted password that has formulas that link back to the password protected workbooks. - We want to be able to create a macro so that the person opening the Master after clicking "update links" won't have to enter all the different passwords for each of the workbooks (A, B, C, D) and so that the formulas will automatically update without having to open the workbooks A, B, C, D. To add to the complication, they want Workbooks A, B, C, D to have a formula which will also link back to one column from the Master but without being able to open the Master since it contains sensitive data. We are thinking an auto macro of some sort so they can't see or know the Master Password. These guys barely can get around in Excel so they won't know how to go looking for a password under programming, but we just want it to be automated so that when they open their Workbook A or Workbook B, it auto updates from the Master. Likewise, the Master user can know all the passwords, but since there are literally 16 workbooks linking together, we want a macro so she won't have to enter all those passwords. Thanks for the help! |
