Default Word crashes on paste of test and drawing

Hello.
I have word 2k3.
I have a rather long document, containing many questions in math.
I copy the questions to separate documents, to categorize them.
Every time I copy a question that also contains a drawing (from the word simple drawing tools - such as a circle with a triangle etc), and paste it in the new document, the program crashes.

Has this happened to anyone?
What can I do to solve it?
Thanks,
radagast.
