Force the message to go out in Rich Text Format - double click on the mail
address and select the option to send using Outlook RTF.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, bmccuskee asked:

| This is a non-exchange environment, using Outlook 2000. An Outlook
| 2003 client works propoerly in the same environment, whether the
| client is Win 98 or XP pro/home.
